The Connoisseur tour is the ultimate in food and wine matching. As you weave your way through the patchwork landscape, the history and charm of the beautiful Barossa Valley unfold before you.
This tour takes you on a journey to experience the wines of three legendary winemakers. We start in the Eden Valley at Australia’s oldest family owned winery, Yalumba. Enjoy a tutored tasting of their rarest and finest wines whilst you gaze upon their architecturally designed winery built in 1849. Current Chief Winemaker Sam Wigan resides over their famous wines such as the Signature and Octavius, however there are some surprises amongst their finest wines.
Touring across the Barossa Ranges taking in scenic views you will head to the historic village of Krondorf. Charles Melton Wines make some of the most desirable wines including the Nine Popes, modelled upon the famous wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Finally a four course lunch matched with local Barossa wines at the award winning Fino Seppeltsfield will be followed by a Taste of History – the opportunity to sample 100-year-old vintage fortified wine from the Centennial Cellar at Seppeltsfield.
In the Barossa, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to amazingly talented winemakers. Whilst the wine selections included on this tour are subject to the availability of the winemaker, we have other equally delightful options if the winemaker is unavailable to host.
